Guitar Building 101 Class

Build your own high quality guitar or bass in just 1 day in our weekend class!

About the Guitar

Body is American Ash or Alder and pre-finished. Flamed and quilted maple tops also available. Choose from a wide variety of colors for the body and pickguard. The neck is Canadian Maple with your choice of a rosewood or maple fingerboard. Choose from several options for pickups, electronics and hardware.

What you will learn:

  • Theory and basic design.
  • Guitar assembly.
  • Setup and adjustment Luthier tools—what they are and how to use them.
  • Guitar parts and tools—where and what to buy.
  • Guitar electronics—theory and wiring.
  • Soldering techniques.
  • Guitar customizing and upgrading.
  • Guitar finishing techniques will be discussed.

At the completion of the class you will walk away with a beautiful instrument that you built, along with skills to build and maintain other guitars! Class size is limited. Price for materials and instruction start at only $865.

Guitar Building 101 classes by AM Guitar Works are an excellent way to begin learning the art of guitar building. This is a basic class where you build a guitar with pre-cut, pre-finished parts. You can choose from a variety of colors and other options. Some colors and styles are available for an additional price.











AVAILABLE MODELS: For this class you can choose a Tele style guitar, Strat Style, Precision Bass or Jazz Bass.

About the Class

The class will be a combination of hands-on and lecture. You will not receive an "assembly manual". We will discuss each step of the assembly process and the theory involved. The goal is to give you skills that you can use on your next project.
